The vendor must source and install either a new crate engine or certified remanufactured engine long block, remove and reinstall serviceable accessories, replace unserviceable components, and service all vehicle fluid systems according to manufacturer specifications and EPA emissions standards. Key requirements include completing all work within 120 days of contract award, providing secure vehicle storage, submitting all component quotes for approval prior to procurement, and delivering a comprehensive one-year warranty on the engine and 60-day warranty on minor systems and accessories. The posting is classified under NAICS 811310 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC J028 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Engines, Turbines, and Components). This is a pre-solicitation notice for sources sought purposes only, with a deadline of January 14, 2026, and the government is conducting market research rather than requesting actual quotes at this time.

The scope involves work on a single fire-engine vehicle with an anticipated completion timeline of 120 days following contract award. All work performed must be documented with supporting evidence, including fluid and filter change records, remanufactured engine certification documents, and pump testing results per NFPA guidelines. Any warranty repairs required during the one-year coverage period must be completed at no cost to the government within 60 days of service acceptance, with final vehicle inspection conducted by a qualified Vehicle Management 7-level mechanic.
