About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps has issued a Special Notice regarding the cancellation of a previously released Request for Proposal (RFP) M0068125R0002 for Fire Fighting & PPE Equipment Maintenance Service. The original solicitation is being withdrawn due to a significant expansion in the project's scope, which now includes services for a fourth fire department location. This expansion represents a material change that was not part of the initial proposal requirements. The opportunity is categorized under NAICS code 811310 for Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance, specifically focusing on fire fighting and safety equipment maintenance. The contract is set aside as a Total Small Business opportunity, with a posting date of April 7, 2025, and a due date of April 22, 2025.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to transparently communicate the cancellation of the original RFP and signal the forthcoming release of a new solicitation that fully encompasses the expanded service requirements. By cancelling the initial RFP, the Marine Corps aims to ensure fair competition and provide all interested vendors an equitable opportunity to propose services for all four fire department locations. The new RFP will comprehensively articulate the complete scope of work, acquisition strategy, and detailed requirements across all customer locations. Small businesses meeting the specified NAICS category and capable of providing fire fighting and safety equipment maintenance services are eligible to participate. Contractors should carefully review the upcoming RFP to understand the full breadth of the expanded requirements and prepare comprehensive proposals that address the maintenance needs across multiple fire department locations.

CANCELLATION OF SOLICITATION
Cancellation Description: Subsequent to the issuance of RFP M0068125R0002, the scope of the requirement has expanded to include services for a fourth fire department location. This addition represents a substantial change to the original scope, exceeding what prospective offerors reasonably could have anticipated at the time of proposal submission. Cancelling the initial RFP and issuing a new one is necessary to ensure fair competition and allow all interested vendors the opportunity to propose on the complete requirement. The new RFP will clearly articulate the expanded scope, including all four fire department customer locations and associated requirements as well as the acquisition strategy.
