About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of repairing B-1 Nose Radome for USAF personnel. The procurement targets contractors with expertise in aircraft parts manufacturing, specifically within the NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing. The market research aims to assess industry capabilities for this specialized repair service, with contractors understanding that participation in this survey does not guarantee future solicitation or contract awards. The government has not yet specified the required security clearance level or the extent of permitted foreign participation in the project. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on December 15, 2021, with responses due by January 14, 2022, and participants will not be reimbursed for survey-related expenses.

The opportunity is currently designated with no specific set-aside, allowing broad competition among qualifying contractors with up to 1,250 employees. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the procurement targets companies with technical capabilities to perform precise radome repair services for military aircraft. The proposed classification under NAICS code 336413 suggests the government is seeking specialized manufacturers with demonstrated experience in aircraft component restoration. Two supporting documents have been attached to the opportunity: an SSS (Solicitation, Offer, and Award) document and a Performance Work Statement (PWS), which likely contain more detailed technical specifications. The market survey represents an initial phase of procurement, with potential for a future formal solicitation and contract award for B-1 Nose Radome repair services.
