About this opportunity

The Federal Bureau of Prisons' Federal Correctional Complex Lompoc seeks quotes for nine complete fire escape door assemblies under a Total Small Business set-aside, with quotes due November 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific. The set-aside is under NAICS 332321 with a 750-employee size standard, and the commercial-item acquisition is firm fixed price, with award anticipated on or about November 24, 2026. The combined synopsis summary references November 16, 2027, but the notice's due date is November 16, 2026.

Item 0001 covers five right-hand outswing units, and Item 0002 covers four left-hand outswing units. Each door measures 36 inches wide by 80 inches high by 2 inches thick, with a minimum 12-gauge galvanneal steel hollow metal construction and a ribbed, insulated core. The fire rating must be compatible with the wall's rating, typically 75% of that rating, and the attachment summary cites a 90-minute rating. All components must be new and U.L. Listed or labeled by an agency acceptable to the Authority Having Jurisdiction. The attachment summary also specifies three UL-Listed ball bearing hinges per door, panic hardware operable at 15 pounds force or less, 80-series keyed locks, and smoke and draft seals.

Vendors may offer equal or better products, but must submit all technical documentation, certifications, and test results. The government retains sole and final technical acceptance authority. Delivery is F.O.B. destination to 3901 Klein Boulevard, Lompoc, California 93436, accepted 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pacific, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays.

Award goes to the responsible quoter offering best value based on price (fair and reasonable determination), past performance, and technical evaluation that includes brand or manufacturer identification. Quoters must email PDF quotes to tlamirand@bop.gov and include FAR 52.212-3 representations and certifications. Questions go by email only, as phone calls are not accepted. Contracting officer Manjit Dola is named, with Tammy LaMirand as the inquiry contact and Fernando Pena (FXPena@bop.gov, 805-735-2771) as the listed point of contact. The title references Project 25Z6AXX, while the attachment is labeled 26Z6AL1.
