About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency seeks innovative research proposals to develop Fast Network Interface Cards and related technologies to accelerate distributed applications like neural network training by over 100 times through revolutionary advances enabling datapath speeds of 10 terabits per second. Proposals are due by October 8, 2019 and will be evaluated based on scientific and technical merit, contribution to DARPA's mission, and cost realism. The program involves three phases over four years with an initial goal of a 5x application speedup proof-of-concept.
There is no set-aside designation. Estimated individual phase one proposal budgets range from $181,000 to $235,000. Awards are anticipated for one performer each in technical areas one and three focused on network hardware/software and test/evaluation, with multiple performers in technical area two involving new applications. Research performance will take place at offeror and government facilities. NAICS code 541715 and PSC code C499 apply.
