About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a sole-source intent notice on September 14, 2026, for the award of a contract to Aviat U.S., Inc., Austin, Texas, for two IP-ready microwave radios with site-specific frequencies to support Brand New Air Traffic Control Systems (BNATCS) IP Microwave Solution field test operations at the D/10DFW complex. This procurement is not available for full and open competition.

The FAA determined sole-source award to be in its best interest based on five factors: BAA compliance, all-indoor-unit design, IP capability, compatibility with existing FAA power systems, and compatibility with existing FAA channel banks. The agency identified critical operational risk: the absence of an IP-ready solution would result in failure of remaining FAA-owned microwave system links in the National Airspace System.

Interested parties may submit written questions to Contract Specialist Connor Delaney, Connor.C-CTR.Delaney@faa.gov, no later than 5:00 p.m. CST on September 17, 2026. The notice is issued under FAA Acquisition Management System 3.2.2.4.
