About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration intends to pursue a single source procurement of six Traveling Wave Tubes from Teledyne Microwave Solutions, LLC. The tubes are critical components for the FAA's Airport Surface Detection Equipment radar systems used at major airports.
Specifically, the procurement aims to acquire six units of a proprietary traveling wave tube used in ground radar systems ensuring air traffic safety. Contractors must submit claims of possession of relevant technical data and manufacturing capabilities by 4PM Central on July 28, 2023 to the point of contact identified. As a critical airport infrastructure part, only the believed original equipment manufacturer Teledyne Defense Electronics LLC is eligible to participate due to intellectual property restrictions. If obtained, the tubes would then be manufactured and delivered in compliance with the FAA's Acquisition Management System in lieu of the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
