About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking to procure F100-PW-220 Metallic Aircraft Seals (Part Number 4088961, NSN 2840016257346NZ) through a one-time spares buy for new manufacture. The solicitation requires potential vendors to undergo a rigorous Source Approval Request (SAR) process to demonstrate engineering qualifications and manufacturing capabilities, with sources needing pre-approval by the design control activity. The contract opportunity, identified as FA812125Q0022, will be issued on 30 May 2025 with responses due by 30 June 2025, and an Ombudsman is available to address contractor concerns during proposal development. Evaluation will focus on engineering source approval, manufacturing expertise, and compliance with specified technical requirements. Vendors must submit SAR packages electronically through DoD SAFE and demonstrate ability to meet stringent quality standards for this critical aircraft component.
The solicitation is not set aside for any specific business category, and potential vendors will compete on a competitive basis. The procurement involves 78 total units of metallic seals to be delivered in increments from February through September 2026, with each monthly delivery ranging from 8-10 units. Delivery will be to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, with early deliveries acceptable. The contract will be a firm-fixed-price arrangement, with unit prices potentially triggering Unique Item Identification (UID) requirements if they exceed $5,000. Performance is classified under NAICS Category 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing, with a Product Service Code of 2840 for Gas Turbines and Jet Engine Components. The seals are critical for controlling oil and air placement in aircraft carbon components, requiring precise engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
