About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research for potential F-35 Landing Gear Support strategies through a Request for Industry Comments (RFIC). The market research seeks to identify sources and gather industry insights for sustainment support of the F-35 Landing Gear System, including provisioning, cataloging, consumable part support, and repair/remanufacture of repairable items for the global F-35 fleet. Interested parties must submit written responses to specific questions by June 10, 2025, at 16:00 MDT to Contracting Officer Kyle Swaner via email. The government emphasizes that this is not a formal solicitation and does not obligate them to issue a contract or pay for submitted information. Responses will be used for planning purposes and may be incorporated into future acquisition strategies and subsequent Request for Proposals to be released on SAM.gov.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this opportunity. The solicitation covers multiple landing gear components including drag braces, retract actuators, shock struts, downlock actuators, and launch bar assemblies for different aircraft landing gear configurations. While no specific award value is mentioned, the scope suggests a potentially significant contract for comprehensive landing gear support across the F-35 fleet. The research aims to explore strategies for reducing sustainment costs, understanding manufacturing and repair capabilities, and developing global support solutions. Respondents will be evaluated on their experience with F-35 Landing Gear systems, technical capabilities, risk management approaches, and potential organizational conflicts of interest.
