About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research for an F-16 Transfer Unit with NSN 7025-01-616-5061, seeking to determine potential sources capable of meeting their requirements. The primary objectives include identifying commercial or nondevelopmental items that can satisfy agency needs and enhancing small business access to acquisition information. The procurement is being conducted under 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), with justification based on limited available sources for these specific supplies. Interested parties are encouraged to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations, with contact directed to Michelle Mihu at michelle.mihu@us.af.mil. The deadline for expressing interest or submitting responses is January 25, 2025, with a 15-day window for firms to identify commercial item capabilities.

The procurement is not set aside for small businesses and involves an estimated quantity of 8 units with a projected delivery schedule of 14 months after contract award. GE Aviation (CAGE 35351) has been suggested as a potential source for subcontracting opportunities. The contract will be subject to Free Trade Agreements, and the government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part. The estimated contract timeline suggests a delivery destination of SW3210, and the procurement falls under the Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing NAICS category (334310). While no specific award value is indicated, the complexity of the procurement suggests specialized technical requirements for the F-16 Transfer Unit.
