This announcement is issued for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal request for proposals or a commitment by the government to award a contract. The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.103-1, identifying L3Harris as the only responsible source capable of satisfying agency requirements under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1). The notice is categorized under NAICS 334511 (Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC 1240 (Optical Sighting and Ranging Equipment). The pre-solicitation notice due date is April 23, 2026, and interested parties should note that no funds are available to reimburse respondents for preparation costs, and all submissions are purely voluntary.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and identifies L3Harris Technologies as the sole source contractor. The pre-solicitation notice does not specify the quantity of eye-safe laser rangefinders to be procured, the contract award value, or a detailed timeline for performance. Companies interested in pursuing subcontracting opportunities must contact L3Harris directly rather than the government, as this sole source procurement eliminates open competition. The notice provides no evaluation criteria beyond the sole source justification, as formal proposal evaluation is not applicable given the predetermined contractor selection. Potential suppliers should monitor for any subsequent formal solicitation that may follow this informational announcement.
