Update #2 ·

This Justification and Approval for other than full and open Competition has been reviewed and approved in accordance with established TSA procedures and is hereby published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.305.  Any and all redactions in this published document (that is, language marked out or deleted) have been identified and confirmed by the Government as contractor proprietary information which the Government must protect from unauthorized disclosure.  As the Government's intent to acquire using other than full and open competition was previously published on the Government-wide-Point of Entry (FedBizOpps) and all public comments considered at that time, the Government does not intend to respond further concerning this publication.

Update #1 ·

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intends to contract using other than full and open competition to procure maintenance services for over 2,000 Itemiser DX Electronic Trace Detectors (ETDs) deployed at airport locations across the U.S. and its territories.  Accordingly, the TSA intends to award a contract to Morpho Detection, Inc., 205 Lowell Street, Wilmington, MA 01887-2491.  This contract will address the requirements of the Integrated Logistics Support Program in order to sustain transportation security equipment (TSE) deployed and operated by the TSA.

The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.  Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.  However, all proposals received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.  The Government will notify parties of the outcome of any proposal submitted in response.  A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Interested vendors who may wish to seek subcontracting opportunities should contact the above named company directly.
