About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is issuing a Special Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract for Exhibit Booth Space at the Air Space and Cyber Conference 2026. The contracting officer has determined that only the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) possesses the authority to lease booth space for this event, making competitive bidding unnecessary. This sole-source award is authorized under FAR 6.104-2(a) and FAR 12.102(a), which permit non-competitive procurement when only one source can satisfy the requirement. The notice was posted on March 6, 2026, and represents the Air Force's intent to secure exhibit space rather than a competitive solicitation. However, the government will consider all quotes received by the established deadline and retains discretion over the final award decision.
The Air Force seeks exhibit booth space at the Air Space and Cyber Conference 2026, scheduled for September 14-16, 2026, at the Gaylord National Hotel in National Harbor, Maryland. The booth space supports the execution of the 2nd Air Force Commander's communication plan regarding BMT Next initiatives and provides access to MAJCOM leaders, general officers, industry partners, and government officials. Interested parties must submit capability statements and quotes via email to zachery.dishong@us.af.mil and kristopher.kostenko@us.af.mil by 8:00 AM CST on March 12, 2026. While AFA is the identified sole source, any contractor believing they can meet the requirement is permitted to submit a response, though no prior sole-source registration or special eligibility criteria are specified. The government's determination not to compete the contract, based on responses received, remains entirely discretionary.
