Added: Jun 26, 2017 3:08 am Over the next five years, USAID will invest in supporting the GRZ’s vision of a “Nation of Healthy and Productive People” with the specific goal of reducing TB-related mortality by 50 percent in the intervention provinces by 2022.

The Eradicate TB Activity will work in partnership with the GRZ, NTP, private sector and others at the national, provincial and community levels to strengthen implementation of key components of the GRZ’s response to control TB in Zambia. At the national level, the Contractor will work with the NTP on outstanding policy-related activities such as strategies, guidelines, and protocols. At a minimum, the Contractor will implement its TB control activities in six provinces, building on USAID’s previous investments in TB. These provinces are: Northern, Luapula, Muchinga, Copperbelt, Central, and North-Western provinces. More specific geographic scope will be determined by USAID and the Contractor. The Activity’s target communities have a high burden of TB, including underserved communities, people in congregate settings such as prisons, children, and People Living with HIV (PLHIV/ PLWHA).
