About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source contract to Metro Health for access to the Epic Cosmos electronic health record (EHR) dataset. This EHR dataset contains records from over 240 million patients across all 50 states, making it the largest integrated EHR system in the United States. The dataset is updated in real-time and includes features such as automatic downloading of vaccine data and maintaining links between mothers and their infants, which enables the assessment of maternal-infant outcomes. The CDC seeks to leverage this extensive dataset to quickly assess real-world effectiveness questions, especially regarding rare outcomes.
This contract action is not set aside for any specific business type, and Metro Health is the only source capable of providing access to the Cosmos EHR dataset. Interested parties may submit responses within 15 days of the notice's issuance, but the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The contract will be classified under NAICS code 541511 - Custom Computer Programming Services and PSC code AN11 - Health R&D Services; Health Care Services; Basic Research.
