About this opportunity
NASA's National Shared Services Center (NSSC) is seeking to procure Engineering Development Unit (EDU) hardware and engineering support for the Venus Atmospheric Structure Investigation (VASI) project. The procurement involves three QA1400 EDU analog accelerometers and one HG4934SRS angular rate sensor, along with twenty hours of engineering expertise from Honeywell. NASA intends to issue this as a sole source contract under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), based on Honeywell being the exclusive manufacturer of these components. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing by May 21, 2025, at 11:59 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, with the understanding that the government will evaluate these submissions solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The evaluation will be at the government's discretion, and oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
The contract has no specific set-aside designation and is categorized under NAICS Code 541330 for professional, scientific, and technical services. Performance will be located at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, with Honeywell's work to be conducted at their Clearwater, Florida facility over an anticipated 12-month period. The procurement aims to support the VASI instrument's goal of characterizing Venus's atmospheric structure and dynamics during planetary entry and descent. While no specific award value is disclosed, the scope includes procuring specialized sensors and obtaining technical expertise. The contract will be structured using commercial item provisions under FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, with NASA Clause 1852.215-84 (Ombudsman) applicable to the acquisition process.
