About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract opportunity involving engine exhaust silencer replacement. The notice specifically targets Nelson Global Products for procurement of two engine exhaust silencers with hospital grade 15-42 dB attenuation, four 14" ANSI flange gasket kits, and two 14" ID carbon steel rain caps with high heat-resistant paint. The procurement will be conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 authority and 10 U.S.C. 2304, indicating a direct, non-competitive acquisition process. The contract is associated with Building 157 at New Boston Space Force Station and involves precise technical specifications for the exhaust system components. The special notice was posted on February 26, 2025, with responses being accepted until March 7, 2025.

Contractors interested in this opportunity must understand that this is a Notice of Contract Action (NOCA) and not a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) or Invitation for Bid (IFB). Interested parties may submit unclassified responses via email to Ryan Wang and Eva Leavitt by March 7, 2025, at 1400 EST, with no other communication channels being entertained. The government explicitly states that no contract will be awarded or payment made based on responses to this notice. Eligibility appears limited, as the notice indicates a sole source procurement targeting Nelson Global Products specifically. Contractors must have active SAM registration and provide CAGE/DUNS documentation. Technical understanding of the Statement of Work requirements will be a key evaluation factor, with specific attention to the detailed silencer specifications, installation requirements, and security protocols for accessing the military installation.
