About this opportunity
The USDA Forest Service has issued a Sources Sought Synopsis for an enclosed snowmobile trailer to conduct preliminary market research before releasing a formal Request for Quote (RFQ). The agency seeks a fully enclosed trailer capable of transporting at least three snowmobiles, with specific dimensional requirements including 23'-24' overall length, 102" width, and 6'4"-6'8" interior height. Key specifications include a V-nose design, metal frame with undercoating, aluminum side door, electric brakes, nine tie-downs, a 14"x14" camper roof vent, an 18,000 BTU propane heater, LED interior lighting, and spare tire mount. The trailer must be delivered to 1918 Commerce Ave, Boise, Idaho 83709. Interested vendors must submit capabilities statements and SAM Unique Entity Identifiers electronically to Contract Specialist Paul Foster at paul.foster@usda.gov by July 30, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, specifically targeting Small Business, 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) enterprises. No incumbent contractors are identified in the synopsis, as this appears to be a new procurement requirement. The government has not disclosed budget ranges or estimated award values in this preliminary market research phase. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 336212 (Truck Trailer Manufacturing) and PSC code 2330 (Trailers), indicating the specialized nature of the trailer manufacturing requirement. The Forest Service plans to award a firm fixed-price contract following the completion of market research and the subsequent formal solicitation process.
