About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy to Belgium is soliciting a firm-fixed-price Purchase Order for emergency sinkhole investigation and repair services at its Brussels compound. The Department of State's Embassy in Brussels requires a contractor to conduct comprehensive diagnostic investigation using ground penetrating radar, excavate the affected area to identify the sinkhole source, perform necessary repairs, and restore the road surface to its original cobblestone design. Key requirements include strict adherence to safety protocols for excavation and confined space work, with immediate notification to the government if excavation exceeds five meters due to proximity to adjacent building foundations. The contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to proposal submission, and quotations must be submitted electronically in PDF format to BrusselsBids@state.gov no later than December 10, 2025. This is an extremely time-sensitive procurement with a one-day submission deadline, as the notice was posted on December 9, 2025.
No set-aside designations apply to this procurement, and no incumbent contractor information is disclosed in the solicitation materials. The contract has no stated award value or budget range in the public notice. The performance period runs from December 10, 2025 through January 9, 2026, providing a 30-day window for completion of all investigation and repair activities. The work will be performed at Rue Zinner within the U.S. Embassy compound in Brussels, Belgium (postal code 1000). Contractor personnel will require escort and visitor badges while on-site, and the Embassy will provide limited support including low-voltage electricity and water access, with daily site inspections conducted by embassy facility managers.
