About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Academy has issued a Special Notice for the procurement of two Barudan Single Head Embroidery Machines for the Cadet Tailor Shop at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado. The notice, published on December 12, 2024, indicates the intent to award a single-source commercial contract to Barudan America, Inc. under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), which allows for a non-competitive award when only one responsible source is available. The contract will be executed using simplified procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) parts 12 and 13, with a total small business set-aside.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit capability statements demonstrating how competition could be advantageous to the government by 10:00 AM Mountain Daylight Time on December 19, 2024. Responses should be sent to specified Air Force contacts and must provide clear evidence supporting potential competition. All respondents must have current registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) and should note that this notice is informational only, with no solicitation for bids at this time. An ombudsman, James Anderson, has been appointed to facilitate potential concerns from interested parties, though direct communication about technical requirements should be directed to the contracting officer. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 333248 with a size standard of 750 employees.
