About this opportunity

The Department of State's U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive elevator maintenance services for three OTIS elevators located at the embassy. The solicitation, numbered 19BB2125R0001, requires a firm fixed-price contract with a base year and four optional one-year extension periods. Potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and submit electronic proposals by June 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time to Bridgetownprocurement@state.gov. All proposals must be submitted in MS-Word, MS-Excel, or Adobe Acrobat format, with a maximum file size of 30MB. The government intends to award the contract to the most responsible company offering the lowest price, potentially without further discussions, and vendors may submit questions about the solicitation until June 13, 2025, at 10:00 local time.

The contract covers maintenance for two passenger elevators (Models 84NE0088 and 84NE0089) and one freight elevator (Model 84NE0087), with services to be performed in Saint Michael, Barbados. There is no specific set-aside designation for this procurement, and the solicitation falls under NAICS category 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance. The maintenance services will require monthly inspections, emergency response, repair services, and full coverage of parts and labor, with contractors expected to provide trained elevator mechanics and maintain appropriate insurance. Pricing will be conducted in Barbados dollars, and the contract includes provisions for Defense Base Act insurance and potential Value Added Tax. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the potential five-year contract duration suggests a comprehensive and potentially significant maintenance engagement for the embassy's elevator infrastructure.
