About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking repair or modification services for electronic components under NSN 7H-5998-010058936, specifically one unit requiring delivery FOB origin. The government lacks data rights for this specialized component and has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the necessary technical data or reverse engineer the part, limiting competition to qualified sources. All interested firms must include their CAGE code when requesting solicitation documents and must meet qualification requirements in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1 at the time of award. The government will not apply commercial item acquisition procedures from FAR Part 12 based on their market research findings. The opportunity was posted on November 10, 2021, with a response deadline of September 11, 2025.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and falls under PSC category 5998 for electrical and electronic assemblies, boards, cards, and associated hardware. The contract calls for a quantity of one each unit to be repaired or modified, though no specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the available documentation. The extended timeline from the 2021 posting date to the 2025 deadline suggests a complex procurement process, likely due to the specialized nature of the component and limited supplier base resulting from the government's lack of technical data rights.
