The Conecuh Ranger District in the National Forests in Alabama has requirement for Drum Chopping.
The areas must be completely covered by a single drum chopper. The drum chopper must be pulled over all debris on the area. It is not permissible to push debris such as large tree tops to the side. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, supplies and perform all work required with the exception of a Government furnished drum chopper. The Forest Service will provide a Marden single section Heavy Brush Cutter 8' drum chopper, having a 1O' overall width, 17' overall length, an empty weight of approximately 16,000 pounds, and a filled weight of approximately 27,500 pounds. This solicitation will result in the award of a single award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with one base period and four option years that may be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The guaranteed minimum amount will be 150 acres each year for the base and each option period with a maximum of 400 acres each year for the base and each option period or no more than $300,000 over the life of the contract.
This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The solicitation along with any applicable drawings and specifications is expected to be posted around March 19, 2015 on this website. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. All interested parties are responsible for monitoring the Federal Business Opportunity website at http://www.fbo.gov for status of solicitation and amendments, if any. All interested parties must be registered with the System for award management (www.sam.gov).
