About this opportunity

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Eastern Ecological Science Center is seeking a contractor to perform dredging services for Pond 3 and a chlorine contact tank located in Jefferson County, West Virginia. The Request for Quotes (RFQ) 140G0125Q0017 requires removing approximately 3-3.5 feet of settlements and leaf debris from the pond and tank, with a focus on precise material removal. Interested contractors must submit quotes by January 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM PST, with a mandatory site visit scheduled for January 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST. The contract is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 237990 with a size standard of $37.0 million. The estimated contract value ranges between $25,000 and $100,000, with a period of performance of 63 days after the notice to proceed is issued. The work will be conducted at the USGS Eastern Ecological Science Center in Kearneysville, West Virginia, with work hours limited to 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Contractors must obtain all necessary West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection permits for material removal and disposal. The anticipated contract award date is January 23, 2025, with all work expected to be completed by May 30, 2025. The dredging project involves removing fish/aquatic waste and natural vegetation debris from a settling pond measuring approximately 75 feet wide by 375 feet long, tapering to 20 feet wide, and a chlorine contact tank sized 18'x18'x6'.
