About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors capable of supplying a specialized 3-tier, free-standing cadaver rack system designed for refrigerated vehicles. The primary procurement focuses on the cadaver rack system itself, which must meet stringent specifications including a capacity of at least 500 lbs per tier, compatibility with standard transfer cases (approximately 88"L x 28"W x 18"H) or 23-inch wide stainless steel body trays, and a total height not exceeding 74 inches. All racks and support columns must be constructed from rust-resistant, 0.120-inch thick stainless steel tubing, and the system must include leveling pads and be delivered disassembled and palletized. While this pre-solicitation notice does not specify formal evaluation criteria, interested vendors should be prepared to demonstrate their capability to meet the detailed technical specifications and manufacturing requirements outlined. The deadline for vendors to respond to this market research inquiry is April 13, 2026, providing a ten-day window from the April 3, 2026 posting date.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and does not identify any current incumbent contractors or potential contract values. The inquiry extends beyond the cadaver rack system itself to include a requirement for 96 compatible stainless steel body trays with 23-inch width and 96 nylon securing straps equipped with buckles, indicating a complete systems approach to the procurement. No budget ceiling or award value range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The total quantity of cadaver rack systems to be procured is not specified in this market research phase, suggesting that the Air Force is gathering information to assess vendor capabilities and market capacity before issuing a formal solicitation. Vendors should note that this RFI is strictly for market research purposes and does not constitute a binding procurement action or guarantee of future contract award.
