About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard is soliciting dockside repair services for the USCGC CROCODILE (WPB-87369), a Coast Guard cutter requiring comprehensive fiscal year 2026 maintenance and repairs. The solicitation encompasses nine primary work items including inspection and repair of watertight closures, main diesel engine assemblies, electrical power distribution systems, ventilation systems, HVAC ducting, grey water holding tanks, and sewage holding tanks. Offerors must demonstrate technical capability in ship repair services and submit past performance information along with comprehensive pricing proposals. A critical amendment issued on December 8, 2025, added a new requirement that offerors submit the name and resume of their technical representative performing maintenance, who must demonstrate documented experience with MTU marine engines. The proposal submission deadline is December 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST, with site visits and ship inspections having been required by November 21, 2025.
This solicitation is designated as a 100% Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside under NAICS code 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing) with a size standard of 1,300 employees. The contract is structured as a firm-fixed-price award with a performance period from March 17, 2026 through April 14, 2026, spanning approximately four weeks of intensive maintenance work. The pricing schedule includes multiple line items for specific maintenance tasks with provisions for potential over-and-above or growth work, along with contingency labor hours and material markup allowances, though specific budget values are not disclosed in the solicitation documents. All work will be executed at the cutter's home pier located in St. Petersburg, Florida, eliminating the need for vessel repositioning. The contract is being managed by the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center in Norfolk, Virginia, under solicitation number 70Z08026QPBPL0006.
