About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 54 units of a Display Unit identified by NSN 7R-7025-017016917-P8, Reference Number 1072288P-8, with delivery FOB origin. This procurement requires engineering source approval by the design control activity due to the flight-critical nature of the item and the need to maintain quality standards. Only previously approved sources have been solicited because existing qualified sources retain essential data rights, manufacturing knowledge, and technical expertise that are not economically available to the Government. Companies that are not currently approved sources must submit detailed information in accordance with NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support source approval procedures, though the time required for new source approval typically cannot accommodate contract award delays. The due date for responses is September 12, 2025, with the opportunity originally posted on April 17, 2025.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and operates under full and open competition principles, though it is practically limited to approved sources due to technical requirements. The opportunity does not specify current contractors or incumbents, as only pre-approved sources are being solicited for this specialized display unit. No award values or budget ranges are disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The quantity requirement is precisely defined at 54 units, and the procurement falls under PSC category 7E20 for IT and telecommunications end-user equipment. The restriction to approved sources reflects the specialized nature of this aviation component and the critical importance of maintaining established quality and safety standards for flight operations.
