About this opportunity
Paragraph 1:
The Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing a dilution refrigeration system for low-temperature research. The Physics Division at LBNL requires a new dilution refrigerator system that can reach temperatures as low as 24 millikelvin and provide 100-watt cooling power at 4 Kelvin to support their work on high energy physics and quantum information science technologies. LBNL has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information on providers with the necessary capabilities and experience to deliver a system meeting these technical specifications. Respondents should demonstrate a proven track record of providing dilution refrigeration systems that meet or exceed the stated requirements.
Paragraph 2:
This opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category. LBNL has not identified any incumbent contractors or provided an estimated value or budget range for this procurement. The RFI is for informational and planning purposes only, and no contract will be awarded as a direct result. Responses to the RFI are due by July 31, 2024 and should be submitted via email to the LBNL Procurement Representative.
