About this opportunity
The Department of Air Force Pacific Air Forces, specifically the 766th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron (766 ESS), is conducting market research to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Deutz diesel engines to be delivered to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska. The procurement focuses on a specific diesel engine model (63.7 HP@2600 RPM, 24V) with associated components including a control panel, PTO package, starter, alternator, and various engine-related parts. The Request for Information (RFI) seeks to identify potential vendors under NAICS code 335999 (Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing) and evaluate their capabilities to supply these engine kits. Interested vendors are required to respond to specific questions about their small business status, capability to supply the items, estimated delivery lead times, and willingness to provide quotes. The response deadline is December 30, 2024, with responses to be submitted to Contracting Specialist Christie Moyer and Contracting Officer Brandon Biggerstaff.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside for small businesses, though vendors are encouraged to identify their small business status and socio-economic program eligibility. While no specific award value or budget range is provided, the solicitation is part of a 10-year overhaul project for BAK-12 Aircraft Arresting System and Mobile Aircraft Arresting System. The government is seeking comprehensive information about vendor capabilities, including detailed technical specifications for engine delivery, quality assurance processes, and operational readiness verification. Vendors are expected to provide insights into their ability to secure engines to pallets, conduct quality inspections, and ensure proper functioning of all safety and operational systems before shipment. The RFI explicitly states that this is a market research effort and does not constitute a commitment by the government, with no compensation provided for information submitted.
