About this opportunity
The National Institute on Aging is seeking proposals to develop and maintain an Aged Non-Human Primate Tissue Bank to acquire, archive, and distribute excess tissue from non-human primates euthanized at research sites across the United States. The selected contractor must flash-freeze, embed in optimal cutting temperature medium or fix tissues in paraffin for various analyses. The contractor must also collect, store in a database, and submit clinical information including blood and urine analysis linked to tissues from each animal to the National Institute on Aging Primate Aging Database. Proposals are due by April 14, 2023 and will be evaluated based on technical approach, qualifications, and cost.
There is no set-aside designation for this requirement. The NAICS code is 541715 and PSC code is R425. The tissue bank will acquire, archive, and distribute non-human primate tissues over a five-year base period and two one-year options, to be performed at the contractor's facility. The current estimated value is $5-10 million. Proposals must include technical and cost volumes with page limits and follow submission instructions provided in the attachments.

Update #2 · Latest ·
The purpose of the National Institute on Aging's Aged Non-Human Primate Tissue Bank (NHP TB) is to acquire, archive, and distribute excess tissue from non-human primates (NHPs) that are being euthanized for research or humane purposes at sites/Institutions across the country.
Tissues will be flash-frozen, embedded and frozen in optimal cutting temperature (OCT) medium without fixation, or fixed and embedded in paraffin, to allow their downstream application in a wide-range of molecular and histochemical techniques. Clinical information, including but not limited to blood and urine analysis will also be collected, stored in a database, linked to the tissues from the same animal in the bank, and submitted to the NIA Primate Aging Database (PAD).
4/4/2023: Amendment 00001 was added to the list of attachments.
