About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center concerns a sole source contract to determine the environmentally assisted cracking performance of alloy AMg6NOP. The contract will be awarded to the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia to conduct testing focused on the International Space Station environment and potential fatigue interactions.

The University of Virginia will evaluate the effect of welding and sensitization on the alloy's cracking behavior under simulated ISS conditions. Interested parties must submit capabilities and qualifications by 3:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on December 22, 2023 to be considered for conducting the effort on a competitive basis. However, NASA retains sole discretion to sole source the contract as proposed.
