The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate a firm fixed price contract, using FAR Part 12 procedures, on a sole source basis, with GE Inspection Technologies, LP (Cage: 052B7), 721 Visions Drive Skaneateles, NY, 13152-6475.
The Procurement is for Defect Measurement Video Borescope Sets (6mm), NSN: 6650-01-583-8302 to support the KC-130J. GE Inspection Technologies, LP is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the Defect Measurement Video Borescope, P/N XLGOB6120M-N. This Borescope is the only known one to meet the Navy's requirement to support the KC-130J. The Government does not possess the technical data that would be required for an alternate source to manufacture these units.
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements". Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses to this notice must include the company name, point of contact, address, area code and telephone number, telecopy (fax) number, electronic mail (e-mail) address and company literature sufficient to determine the capability of this company to perform this effort.
