The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking sources for the installation of a Main Reduction Gear (MRG) Standby Lube Oil Pump on an Arleigh Burke Class destroyer (DDG). The work involves repair of approximately 6 feet of pipe tubing located in a passageway overhead and will be performed at the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in San Diego, California. This is a sources sought notice issued in accordance with FAR 15.201 and DFARS 210.001 for planning and information purposes to identify qualified contractors; it does not constitute a formal solicitation or Request for Quote. Interested firms must submit a capabilities package by 10:00 a.m. PST on March 2, 2026, to james.l.legaspi.civ@us.navy.mil. The submission should address company profile information (including employee count, office locations, UEI number, and CAGE Code), small business designation status, socioeconomic category if applicable, and details of any partnerships or teaming arrangements.
This opportunity is not designated as a set-aside and no incumbent contractor or award value is identified in the pre-solicitation notice. The work is anticipated to be solicited under NAICS Code 336611 (Ship Building and Repair), which carries a small business size standard of 1,300 employees. The period of performance is anticipated to be 30 days from the start of work to completion, making this a relatively short-duration project. No estimated contract value or budget range has been disclosed at this pre-solicitation stage. Submission of a capabilities statement is not mandatory for participation in any future solicitation, though it may strengthen a firm's positioning for the eventual formal procurement.
