About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution is soliciting quotations for SPI Kits (Special Packaging Instruction Kits) for machine gun tripod mounts under solicitation SP330026Q0068. The procurement requires 600 cartons of SPI AM13046100 kits packaged according to MIL-STD 2073-1 Method 33 specifications, with each carton measuring 47.5 x 15.75 x 8.5 inches. Offerors must demonstrate acceptable past performance and submit three separate files comprising technical capability, past performance documentation, and pricing information. The Government will evaluate quotations using a two-step process prioritizing past performance on an acceptable/unacceptable basis, followed by award to the lowest-priced technically acceptable quoter determined to be responsible under FAR Subpart 9 standards. The initial deadline for quotation submission was March 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM EST to samuel.tustin@dla.mil; however, Amendment 0002 issued on March 18, 2026 clarified that lubricating oil is not required to be supplied and that contractors need only provide the bag for the technical manual, not the manual itself.
This acquisition is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 321920 (Wood Container and Pallet Manufacturing) with a 500-employee size standard and PSC code 8115 (Boxes, Cartons, and Crates). No incumbent contractor is identified in the solicitation documentation. The firm-fixed-price purchase order will be issued as a Standard Form 1449, with delivery required within 60 days after receipt of order to DLA Distribution Anniston at 7 Frankford Avenue, Building 362, Anniston, Alabama 36201-4199. All wooden packaging materials must comply with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) 15 requirements and be heat-treated certified, with containers palletized 15 per 48 x 48 heat-treated wood pallet. Quotations must be held firm for 90 calendar days from submission, and all prospective awardees must maintain active System for Award Management (SAM) registration throughout contract performance with invoicing processed via Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF).
