About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention seeks daily-updated, longitudinal, patient-level electronic health record data through a combined synopsis/solicitation, with proposals due August 13, 2026 and questions due August 4, 2026. The CDC intends to award a sole-source contract to Truveta, Inc., but will consider proposals from other responsible sources demonstrating capability to meet minimum requirements.
Place of performance is Atlanta, Georgia. The procurement is conducted under FAR Part 12 commercial item procedures combined with FAR Part 15. The NAICS code is 518210, Data Processing, Hosting, and Related Services (size standard $40 million); the PSC is B506, Special Studies/Analysis (Data, Other Than Scientific).
The required dataset includes de-identified electronic health records for over 120 million unique U.S. patients since January 2018, with daily updates ensuring a 1–2 day lag between patient encounter and data availability. Data must contain structured clinical variables (laboratory tests, vital measurements, prescriptions, diagnoses, procedures), demographic variables at granular levels, geographic indicators (state, 3-digit and 5-digit ZIP codes), mother-child linkages, mortality data, and social determinants of health. The solution must support up to 150 authorized CDC users with full access via an integrated analytics platform supporting SQL, Python, and R programming languages, with capability to export data to CDC-owned cloud environments.
The base period runs September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027, with three optional one-year periods. Two contract line items are funded at award: CLIN 0001 for data subscription and platform access (12 months) and CLIN 0002 for 120 hours of training and technical support. Four additional optional CLINs cover additional cloud compute/storage units (up to 250,000 units), linked closed claims data, and clinical concept codes derived from natural language processing. Award will be firm-fixed-price to the offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and represents best value.
