About this opportunity

Summary of DAF Enterprise Salesforce Consolidation

The Department of the Air Force (DAF) has consolidated 83 existing large business Salesforce contracts into a single task order under Carahsoft's GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS). The contract was awarded on February 19, 2026, under contract number 47QSWA18D008F to an unnamed vendor for an undisclosed amount using a Firm Fixed Price contract type with Not to Exceed CLINs.

The consolidation encompasses Salesforce software subscriptions, supporting software including MuleSoft and Tableau, and professional services. Salesforce operates as the core platform for the DAF's Enterprise IT as a Service capability, supporting over 700,000 end users across 70 organizations and providing enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) services to standardize stakeholder and service interactions across DAF, MAJCOM, FLDCOM, and DRU infrastructures.

The consolidation is justified under 15 U.S.C. 657q and FAR 7.107-2(b) based on substantial cost and operational benefits. Market research demonstrated projected annual cost savings of up to $26 million through reduced overprovisioning, streamlined licensing, and strategic purchasing aligned with real-time usage data. Additionally, consolidation will significantly reduce Authority to Operate (ATO) costs by eliminating redundant security assessments and approval processes currently required for each of the 83 separate contracts.

No small business concerns currently hold any of the 83 existing contracts, therefore consolidation will not displace existing small business participation. However, the RFQ requires the selected contractor to submit a Small Business Participation Commitment Document addressing teaming arrangements, mentor-protege relationships, and subcontracting measures. Carahsoft is identified as the exclusive Salesforce product distributor, which limits independent small business participation in this market segment.
