About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Acquisition Center is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for Trellix brand name or equivalent CD/DVD enterprise encryption software to protect removable media containing veterans' confidential medical records. This is a pre-solicitation notice for planning and market research purposes only, with no obligation for the government to award a contract. Key requirements include FIPS 140-3 compliant encryption for data-in-motion and data-at-rest by September 2026, support for Windows 11 Professional, deployment capability through BigFix or Configuration Manager, centralized management console with web-based access, Microsoft Active Directory integration, API-driven SIEM integration, 24/7/365 technical support, and compliance with VA Critical Security Controls and Section 508 accessibility standards. Interested contractors must submit a capability statement not exceeding 10 pages by Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST via email to Contract Specialist Julia Renna; no marketing materials are permitted, and the government will not provide payment for RFI responses. The RFI responses will be used to develop the government's acquisition strategy and may inform set-aside decisions.

This procurement includes no set-aside designations, though the government may determine set-aside eligibility based on RFI responses. The current Trellix deployment ends in May 2026, and the contract will commence with a 12-month base period beginning May 15, 2026 through May 14, 2027, followed by four optional 12-month periods. The procurement requires 1,000 software subscriptions per performance period with an optional task capability for up to 500 additional subscriptions per period across all five performance periods, plus 80 professional services hours during the base year. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the RFI, as this is a sources sought notice intended to gather market information rather than execute an award. The contractor will assume full responsibility for all software licenses and associated licensing maintenance for the life of the contract, and technical support must include major product releases, updates, security alerts, and critical patch updates throughout the contract period.
