About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 (Long Beach), issued a notice of intent to sole-source a firm fixed price contract to Siemens Medical Solutions USA for server migration support and software updates for Siemens Syngo.via servers at the San Diego VA Healthcare System, with a response deadline of July 2, 2026.

The procurement covers two line items: Syngo.via VB40-VB80 software upgrade and Syngo.via to Automate/Routine, each one unit. The VA justifies the single source award under FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i) on the basis that Siemens Medical Solutions USA is the sole provider of software maintenance and support for the proprietary Syngo.via software used in radiology and nuclear medicine operations. The rationale emphasizes continuity of service, Siemens' exclusive technical expertise and access to necessary proprietary components, alignment with government security and operational standards, and streamlined contract and system management.

This is not a request for competitive proposals or offers, and no formal solicitation package will be posted. Interested parties may express capability and authorization by the July 2, 2026 deadline at 4:00 PM Pacific Time. The contract specialist is Israel Garcia, located at 4811 Airport Plaza Drive, Suite 600, Long Beach, California 90815. Solicitation number is 36C26226Q0963 (NAICS 541511, PSC DA10).
