About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 2 at James J. Peters VA Medical Center has issued a sole source notice of intent to award a contract to Netsmart Technologies, Inc. for annual clinical maintenance services for Methadone Methasoft software. This software is used to dispense methadone to veterans receiving treatment for opioid addiction. The notice falls under NAICS code 541519 for other computer related services and covers a five-year period of performance from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2030. The VA has identified Netsmart Technologies as the only known authorized service provider capable of delivering the required maintenance services for this specialized medical software system.

The primary objective of this notice is to announce the VA's intent to award a sole source contract for comprehensive software maintenance services that include financial tracking of patient balances, flexible patient charging systems, urinalysis tracking with random drug screenings, automated dosing schedules, inventory management for methadone and buprenorphine, and digital signature capabilities for patient assessments. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the VA allows any firm that believes it can meet the requirements to submit written notification by August 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM ET via email to Charles.Collins@va.gov. Contractors must demonstrate they can satisfy Original Equipment Manufacturer standards and provide all necessary parts and labor for the specified services. The notice explicitly states that telephone requests or inquiries will not be accepted, and if no responses are received by the deadline, the government will proceed with the sole source award to Netsmart Technologies.
