About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting market research to identify potential suppliers for a Cylinder Assembly, Actuating, Linear (NSN 3040-016493536). The procuring activity seeks to gather information from qualified manufacturers regarding their capability to produce this mechanical power transmission equipment component. Current approval for manufacturing is limited to Federal Equipment Co., but the government is actively seeking additional sources to break out this requirement to competition. Potential suppliers must respond to the market survey questionnaire by February 12, 2026, providing delivery timelines, manufacturing capabilities, commercial item status, pricing information, and other technical specifications. The government intends to use responses to evaluate supplier capacity, cost competitiveness, and manufacturing feasibility to support a future formal solicitation.
The government has identified no set-aside designation for this procurement. Federal Equipment Co. is currently the approved source manufacturer (CAGE code 60587). The requirement is for 54 units with an option for an additional 54 units, totaling 108 units potential purchase. Interested suppliers are encouraged to apply for Approved Source status through the DLA Land and Maritime Source Approval Request (SAR) Program by submitting a comprehensive application package that demonstrates manufacturing capability and quality standards equivalent to or exceeding the original equipment manufacturer. Respondents should direct all inquiries and survey responses to Danielle Jilton at the DLA Weapons Support office in Columbus, Ohio, at 614-692-4197 or danielle.jilton@dla.mil.
