About this opportunity
Brookhaven Science Associates, on behalf of the Department of Energy Office of Science, is soliciting Firm Fixed Price quotes for two CTL-618EVS Precision Lathe units equipped with Digital Readout (DRO) installation and NRTL electrical certification. Responsive quotes must include published price lists or web screenshots demonstrating pricing justification, and vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) with a valid Unique Entity ID number to be considered for award. Key requirements include ISO 9001 compliance, mandatory notifications for any design or process changes, nondestructive test reporting, and submission of operating and maintenance manuals. Freight, packing, and handling fees must be incorporated into the all-inclusive delivered price to Brookhaven National Laboratory, as the purchase order will not contain separate line items for these costs. The solicitation is due by November 4, 2025, with award anticipated to be made to the responsive and responsible small business vendor offering the best price.
This is a Total Small Business Set Aside procurement, requiring all responding vendors to be certified small businesses. Brookhaven Science Associates is the prime contractor managing this acquisition under its Department of Energy contract. The equipment must be delivered to Brookhaven National Laboratory's Receiving Building 98 in Upton, New York 11973, with payment terms of Net 30 and FOB Destination. The lathe units require 220V, 60 Hz, 3-Phase 10 Amp power and carry an Environmental, Safety, Health & Quality Risk Level classification of A3 (Minor). The draft purchase order, dated September 18, 2025, specifies standard accessories including a 3-jaw chuck, 5-C collet closer, coolant system, halogen work light, and a toolbox with standard lathe tools as part of the procurement package.
