About this opportunity
Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) is conducting a sources sought to identify commercially available crane parts and components for repair or upgrade of a Heyl-Patterson 10,000 lb. capacity crane at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, with responses due September 3, 2026. This is not a solicitation request and no specifications or drawings are currently available.
NAVFAC seeks parts compatible with the existing crane (model 83-00343) that comply with NAVFAC P-307 Weight Handling Program Management requirements. The required components include a Magnetek Pre-Engineered Control Panel (similar to part 141-27925), a 5.0 HP hoist motor (1200 RPM, 8.4 FLA), three Magnetek G+ Series 4 Drives with reactors and breakers for hoist/trolley/bridge functions, a Magnetek Wireless Radio System with XLTX transmitters and FlexM Receiver (175-14543), and a Magnetek SBP2-8 Electromotive Pendant (127-24279).
The agency intends to identify whether compatible generic parts exist as alternatives to the specified Magnetek brand components. If generic substitutes are available and meet full functionality requirements, NAVFAC will not restrict procurement to name-brand only. If no compatible alternatives exist, the government intends to proceed with a single-source (brand-name) solicitation. Prospective contractors should submit capability information demonstrating compatibility with the Heyl-Patterson crane specifications and the referenced NAVFAC program management standard.

The purpose of this notice is to determine if there are commercially available crane parts and components that demonstrate the ability to meet the Agency’s requirements. The crane parts and components would potentially be specified (as brand name) issued for services to repair or upgrade cranes located at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay within the NAVFAC Southeast Area of Responsibility.
Looking for parts which have capability with Heyl-Patterson 10,000 lb. capacity crane 83-00343 These parts must comply with the requirements of the NAVFAC P-307 Weight Handling Program Management for compatible maintenance and replacement parts for this type of crane. Required parts are as follows:
