About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center's C-5 Special Program Office (SPO) is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors for C-5 Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP) support services. The procurement seeks companies capable of providing maintenance analysis, technical consultation, technology development, and support for the Corrosion Prevention Advisory Board for C-5M aircraft operations. Required capabilities include inspection forecasting, loads analysis, corrosion tracking, reliability and maintainability analysis, force maintenance planning, usage simulation, airframe testing, and service life analysis. Interested firms must submit capabilities statements that include business information, past performance with C-5 or large frame aircraft, technical approach, and responses to eleven detailed capability questions covering experience with aircraft corrosion prevention, military installations, technical briefings, and research capabilities. The deadline for responses is August 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST, with submissions directed to Benjamin.morris.6@us.af.mil.

This Request for Information specifically targets 8(a) certified small businesses as the government evaluates whether this requirement can be set aside for 8(a) firms. The RFI does not constitute a formal solicitation and no contract awards will be made based solely on these responses, as this effort serves purely for market research and acquisition strategy development purposes. No incumbent contractors, award values, budget ranges, or specific contract quantities are identified in the notice. The government's primary objective is to assess the availability and technical capabilities of qualified 8(a) firms to determine the feasibility of a small business set-aside designation for the eventual formal solicitation. The timeframe allows approximately two weeks from the August 11, 2025 posting date for interested companies to prepare and submit their capability statements.
