About this opportunity

The Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified vendors capable of providing Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) capability with emphasis on detecting low-flying threats and delivering low-cost defeat options. The RFI consists of three components: feedback on the Medusa Command-and-Control (C2) Software Development Kit (SDK), information on Proliferated Low-Altitude Detect (PLAD) technologies, and information on Low-Cost Kinetic Defeat (LCKD) technologies. Vendors are not required to respond to all three parts but must fully complete all requested inputs for the parts they choose to address. Responses will be evaluated to identify potential vendors for participation in a late May 2026 demonstration to refine government requirements related to PLAD, LCKD, and SDK integration capabilities. The RFI response deadline is April 3, 2026, and submissions must be directed to Mr. Robert Gill at robert.gill.12@us.af.mil and Captain Adam Factor at adam.factor.1@us.af.mil. This notice is issued solely for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a binding solicitation.

No set-aside designation applies to this pre-solicitation notice. The document does not identify any current incumbents, existing contractors, or specific award values or budget ranges. The RFI is focused on market research and capability assessment rather than immediate procurement, with the primary objective of gathering vendor feedback and identifying qualified participants for the May 2026 demonstration event. Interested vendors should review Section 4 of the full RFI document for specific criteria required to participate in the scheduled demonstration. This pre-solicitation provides an early opportunity for vendors in the defense systems and engineering services sectors to engage with the government and potentially position themselves for future formal solicitations related to C-sUAS capabilities.

Notice text

AFLCMC/ESSK office is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to improve understanding of market landscape to identify qualified vendors capable of providing Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) capability focused on detecting low flying threats and providing fully burdened low-cost defeat options. Part of this effort will involve using a provided Software Development Kit (SDK) to perform initial integration into the Small Unmanned Aircraft Defense System (SUADS) and Medusa Command-and-Control (C2). After initially integrating the program office will be looking to illicit feedback on improvements, issues / bugs, and general suggestions for the SDK.

This RFI has three parts: (1) requested feedback on the Medusa C2 SDK, (2) requested information on Proliferated Low-Altitude Detect (PLAD) technologies, and (3) requested information on Low-Cost Kinetic Defeat (LCKD) technologies. Vendors DO NOT have to respond to all three parts. However, whichever parts vendors choose to fill out, ensure all requested inputs in that part are fully filled out.

The RFI will be used to identify potential vendors that may be offered to participate in a late May 2026 demonstration of their PLAD, LCKD and/or SDK integration capabilities to help refine government requirements. Please see Section 4 for criteria to be requested to participate in the event.

Instructions: Your submission should be organized in accordance with the instructions in this document to permit a thorough and accurate review and evaluation by the USAF. Comments, inquiries and responses to this RFI must be submitted to the USAF via electronic mail to the following: Mr. Robert Gill at robert.gill.12@us.af.mil and Captain Adam Factor at adam.factor.1@us.af.mil.

Disclaimer: THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS SOLELY FOR INFORMATIONAL AND PLANNING PURPOSES AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION.
