About this opportunity

The 20th Contracting Squadron of the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors for the installation of a counter small unmanned aircraft system (c-sUAS) double-net system around an existing aircraft sunshade at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. The primary objective is to prevent intrusions by small unmanned aircraft systems while maintaining operational flexibility for aircraft parking bays. Key requirements include installing UV-resistant, moisture-resistant, and fire-retardant netting material with a minimum 5-year lifespan and #36-gauge thickness that can be manually operated by a single operator and moved either by sliding or parting in the middle. The netting system must accommodate parking bays measuring approximately 65 feet wide by 60 feet in depth with 25 feet of clearance height, attach to existing sunshade columns and horizontal spans without drilling into pavement, maintain gaps no exceeding 9 inches square, withstand wind gusts exceeding 110 miles per hour, and allow secure closure of remaining parking spaces while permitting aircraft entry and exit. This is a Sources Sought notice for market research purposes only and is not a formal solicitation for proposals; responses are due by April 2, 2026, with no payment obligation for information provided.

This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, making it available exclusively to small business entities, including 8(a) firms, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone firms, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. No incumbent contractor or current contract information is provided in this pre-solicitation notice. The opportunity does not specify an award value or budget range in the published materials. Interested parties should submit a capability statement demonstrating their solution, relevant past project experience with anti-drone netting or barrier installations, confirmation of their ability to work within the specified dimensional and site constraints, and verification that they are a U.S.-based company capable of gaining access to military installations. The notice is categorized under NAICS 332311 (Prefabricated Metal Building and Component Manufacturing) and PSC J054 (Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuild of Equipment for Prefabricated Structures and Scaffolding).
