About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is seeking sources to convert Building 452 at Columbus Air Force Base from an existing Wash Rack into a new 4-bay T-7A hangar. The project is currently in the market research phase, with contractors invited to provide voluntary information about their capabilities to complete the renovation. Key contract requirements include providing a Project Manager with 5+ years of experience, maintaining strict environmental and safety compliance, and submitting comprehensive documentation throughout the project. Interested parties must submit responses by March 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM CST, providing details such as business name, CAGE code, contact information, socio-economic status, and previous project experience. Evaluation criteria will likely focus on contractors' ability to meet technical specifications, demonstrate relevant construction experience, and comply with the detailed Statement of Work requirements.
The contract is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, with an estimated project cost ranging between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 under NAICS code 236220. The project has a 548-day period of performance, during which the selected contractor will be responsible for completing the full conversion of the facility. Contractors will need to demonstrate current bonding capacity and be willing to potentially team with other small businesses to meet subcontracting limitations. The scope includes providing all necessary plant, labor, equipment, transportation, and tools to complete the conversion according to 100% Design and Air Force specifications. Specific requirements include coordinating with base operations, maintaining two-way radio contact on flight lines, and submitting material submittals within 90 days of the Notice to Proceed.
