About this opportunity

NASA's Shared Services Center is procuring Continuous Compression Molding (CCM) services for processing amorphous thermoplastic films bonded to semi-crystalline thermoplastic prepreg materials. The primary objective is to develop and optimize a viable CCM process that heals amorphous polymer films to the surfaces of prepreg materials while meeting NASA's specific thermal processing requirements. Key contract requirements include completion of all work within six months of award at the vendor's facility, delivery of 10 sets of material measuring 20 feet by 12 inches processed under up to 10 different thermal history cycles, provision of thermal history data via embedded thermocouples, and grant of facility access to NASA personnel during material builds. Award will be made using lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA) evaluation criteria to a responsible offeror whose quote demonstrates the ability to meet all stated requirements. Critical deadlines include March 3, 2026, by 7:00 a.m. Central Time for submission of technical and contractual questions to Shanna.L.Patterson@nasa.gov, and March 4, 2026, by 7:00 a.m. Central Time for submission of quotations, with all quotes remaining valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified.

This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS Code 541690 and is restricted to authorized resellers only. No incumbent contractor information or award value range is provided in the solicitation documents. The contract will be structured as a firm fixed-price award with delivery on an FOB Destination basis, requiring vendors to supply all consumables necessary for the CCM process while NASA provides all materials to be processed and handles material shipping to the vendor. Quotations must include the vendor's CAGE/UEI code, FOB destination pricing, leadtime for delivery, and two points of contact, with vendors required to reference tracking number 80NSSC26926346Q in all email subject lines. All work will be performed at the vendor's facility, with finished materials to be shipped to NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia 23681.
