About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure three magnetic contactors (NSN 7R-1680-016681661-P8) with delivery FOB origin. This pre-solicitation notice indicates the government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though they are open to receiving proposals from interested parties. Potential vendors can obtain required specifications and documentation through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via the Document Automation and Production Service, with multiple access methods including online downloads, website ordering, or direct contact with the ASSIST Help Desk. The government will consider all proposals received within 45 days of publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement), though the final determination to compete remains solely at the government's discretion. Interested parties must carefully review and comply with document retrieval and submission guidelines.

This pre-solicitation notice does not specify a set-aside designation, indicating the opportunity is open to all qualified providers. The procurement falls under the Product Service Code (PSC) 1680 for Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components, with a specific focus on magnetic contactors. While no specific award value is mentioned, the requirement is for three units, suggesting a relatively focused procurement effort. The opportunity was posted on December 31, 2024, with a response deadline of February 13, 2025, providing potential contractors approximately 45 days to prepare and submit their capabilities or proposals. Interested vendors should note that the information received will primarily be used to determine whether the government will pursue a competitive procurement process, and submission does not guarantee future contract award.
