In addition to accelerating construction, FHWA would also like to increase efficiency in highway construction and project delivery. This contract provides an opportunity to advance this mission through the development and demonstration of technologies and practices, such as Civil Integrated Management/Building Information Modeling (CIM)/(BIM) for infrastructure. In addition, this contract will advance the mission of automated equipment control, alternate project delivery and others to advance their integration into policies and practices. These policies and practices will enhance quality and efficiency of highway and bridge construction project delivery in the future.
