About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a specialized computer navigation equipment item with National Stock Number 7R-5826-015683703-H5, identified as a flight-critical component requiring strict source approval. The solicitation mandates that only previously approved government sources can submit proposals, with stringent qualification requirements to maintain part quality and technical data integrity. Potential offerors must submit comprehensive information detailed in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, demonstrating their engineering capabilities and manufacturing/repair knowledge. The proposal deadline is January 26, 2025, with critical evaluation focusing on the offeror's ability to meet specific government engineering and technical specifications. Interested parties must provide complete documentation, including technical data based on production experience, or risk having their offer disqualified.

This pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation and does not mention award values or precise budget ranges. The procurement is for a single unit (quantity: 1 EA) with delivery specified as FOB Origin, suggesting a targeted, specialized acquisition. The qualification process is complex, requiring potential contractors to demonstrate unique design capabilities and obtain approval from the design control activity before contract award. Contractors not currently approved must undergo a detailed qualification process that may extend beyond the current solicitation timeline, with the government reserving the right to proceed with fleet support needs. The solicitation references multiple resources for technical documentation, including ASSIST-Online and the DoDSingle Stock Point, providing multiple channels for interested parties to obtain necessary background information for their proposal preparation.
